Bitless sidepull?

A bitless sidepull is a bitless bridle where the reins are attached to the sides of the noseband. A sidepull is a great starter bridle when getting in to bitless riding. It works similar to a bitted bridle and understood by most horses.

Bitless sidepull bridles explained

Bitless sidepull bridles are bridles without a bit. The reins are attached to each side of the noseband. At FR Equestrian we currently offer three designs of bitless bridles. The LouLou sidepull, The Pablo sidepull and The Musa sidepull. Each of these bridles have the same functionality but they all have different design and fit.

The LouLou sidepull

The LouLou sidepull is an elegant sidepull bridle that features a U-shaped browband with light topaz crystal stones in golden casings made out of the highest quality.

The bridle padded with our ultra soft nappa padding behind the ears and on the chin protection as well as on the anatomical headpiece with special cut outs for the horses ears. 

The Pablo sidepull

The Pablo Sidepull is one of our original collection of bridles. With it’s simple and luxurious look as well as its anatomical design it is the perfect combination of both comfort and quality.

What makes the Pablo Sidepull unique is that you can change the sidepull noseband out for one of our hybrid nosepieces giving you a bridle that you can change dependent on you and your horses needs.

The Musa sidepull

The Musa sidepull is a deep brown bitless bridle with white stitchings on the nose and U-shaped browband. This bridle is made by made out of a luxurious one piece with our Ultra-soft nappa padding ensuring for a perfect fit.

Bitless riding is considered to be safer and more controlled than riding with a bit. According to a study carried out by the Certified Horseman's Association, horses that had never been ridden bitless were calmer and performed better than those who had previously ridden with bitted bridles.

What does a bitless sidepull look like?

A bitless sidepull bridle looks very similar to any other bridle. The bridle has a noseband, cheeck pieces and a crown/headpiece. The reins are attached to two ring that are at each sice of the bridles noseband. A bitless sidepull bridle has no place to attach a bit to.

How to fit a bitless sidepull

You can determine yourself if your bitless sidepull bridle fits your horse correctly. The noseband should be fitted as any other bridle. You should be able to put 2-3 fingers underneath your horses noseband in the middle of the noseband. The noseband its self should be placed 2 fingers underneath the cheeck bone. What size bitless sidepull do I need?

Are sidepull bridles allowed in dressage?

In some countries sidepull bridles are allowed in dressage and in some countries they are not. In the Netherlands sidepull bridles are allowed in dressage up to level Z. Please check with your country's Equestrian federation for the accurate, up to date rules about bitless bridles in competitions.

Is bitless bridle the same as a sidepull?

Not all bitless bridles are Sidepull bridles. There are many different types of bitless bridles such as Hackamore's, Cross-under's And Cavemore's.
